What is The Community Give?
The Community Give is about working together for a single day, celebrating our
spirit of generosity and making a significant and heartfelt impact on each of the lives
touched by the hard-working nonprofit organizations that affect so many areas of our
lives and community. The Community Give is a 24-hour day of giving on Tuesday
May 5, 2015 from 12:00 a.m. until midnight. It is a day when everyone in our region
is asked to make a donation and show support for the local nonprofit organizations
that positively impact our lives every day.

The Community Foundation will be driving traffic to our giving day website (www.thecommunitygive.org) using
every marketing/outreach/media opportunity available to us. Donors will choose the issue or nonprofit
organization most important to them and make a secure online donation.

The Community Foundation and generous sponsors of The Community Give are offering $100,000 in cash
prizes (grants) for participating nonprofits as a way to build excitement and maximize the benefits for donors
and nonprofits.

What is the Goal of The Community Give?
Oh nothing big - we just want to make history…again!  Last year, nearly 5,000 people throughout our region
gave nearly $450,000. Sponsors provided $100,000 in prizes.  The Community Give 2014 event raised
$544,851 - the most raised in a single day!  This year we have a new target - let's reach 7,500 people and
raise $750,000!
Make Your Mark! Together we have the power to raise tens of thousands of dollars and make a significant
impact on the future of the Rappahannock River region. All it takes is a donation of $25 to your favorite
nonprofit on May 5th.
This community-wide giving challenge will:
·         Unite and celebrate the Rappahannock River region!

·         Inspire giving and increase nonprofit revenues.

·         Raise awareness of current needs and charitable opportunities in our community.

·         Build and strengthen relationships among local nonprofit organizations, caring citizens, and community-
 minded companies.

·         Increase the capacity of local nonprofits to engage constituents and generate revenue.

·         Inspire donors of all kinds to support the causes that mean the most to them.
